Computers, Cooking, Parenting
Cooking, Computer, and Parenting Classes are offered as supportive services through the Healthy Families Program.
Computer classes provide clients with basic technology skills so they can not only search for employment online but succeed in the workplace once they are hired. As a part of the computer classes, participants learn:
- To search for jobs online
- Fill out online job applications
- Create a resume
- The basics of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- To stay connected via the web
Computer classes are Monday and Wednesday from 1:00-3:00.
Cooking classes teach participants how to stretch their food budgets while cooking nutritious meals for their families. There is a cooking demonstration and participants get to take home a bag of groceries when they leave. Classes will be offered on the second Wednesday (at noon) and second Thursday (at 5:30) of each month.

Family Dinner Nights:
Family dinner nights provide local families with a delicious meal and the opportunity to socialize with other families. After dinner, childcare is provided and parents learn from a local professional about a different parenting topic such as managing stress or staying tuned into technology with students. Family Dinner Nights are offered at our main office (211 Minor Street) on February 21st, March 14th, April 18th and May 16th.

The Healthy Families Program is funded in part by the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation.
